Having smooth skin free from wrinkles does require effort, starting from cream and serum treatments. But, it can also be done with beauty technology, one of which is through microneedling. As the name suggests, this is the latest method to keep facial skin youthful using microneedling machine.
In general this technique uses fine needles (0.5 to 2 millimeters in diameter) that are inserted into the skin. Later, this needle will indeed cause small wounds to stimulate skin rejuvenation.
Microneedling is commonly used to improve and treat facial skin problems such as acne, fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, large pores, and other skin pigment problems.
This method is also known as collagen induction therapy (CIT) and percutaneous collagen induction (PCI).
So, what is the practice like?
Medical esthetician Mashell Tabe tells us there are eight things to know before trying it.
1. Consultation with a professional
Before deciding to do treatment, you should consult a dermatologist or licensed esthetician. Be sure to ask questions about the specific treatment process, along with details about the skin reactions of their clients, and then make sure you are comfortable with those answers.
2. Microneedling is different from dermarolling The dermaroller
method uses a super small needle of 0.3 mm. While microneedling uses needles with a width ranging from 0.5 mm to 2 mm. However, what really sets the two apart is how deep the penetration is when piercing the skin. Both only pierce the outer layer of skin (epidermis).
Dermarolling only increases product absorption by up to 90 percent. Meanwhile, microneedling goes deeper, encouraging the skin to naturally produce collagen and elastin.
3. Not Too Painful
This method uses a needle very quickly and repeatedly attached to the skin. The most painful needling process is in the forehead area, but the pain is only temporary. The process is fast and easy.
4. Beneficial for skin Acne and Wrinkles
If you have large pores, acne scars, or fine lines, then this treatment is ideal. This treatment will create a combination of product penetration, wound healing process, eliminating bacteria and good skin regeneration. So that the facial skin looks fresher.
5. Skin becomes bright
After treatment the skin will look reddish. But the skin will become moist and shiny. For best results, routine maintenance every month. Don’t forget to find out how much it costs.
6. Make sure the skin is hydrated
Spray water to hydrate the skin after treatment to keep it moisturized. Whenever the skin feels dry and red, use products such as alcohol-based exfoliators and toners, until the skin heals.
7. Avoid strenuous activities
Skin takes time after treatment, so it is important to avoid activities that can cause sweating, because it will cause inflammation. It’s best to keep it out of direct sunlight for seven to 10 days after treatment, as exposure to heat and UV rays can also trigger irritation.
